The Kentucky Wood Expo Returns to Lexington

Masterson Station Park will once again host the Kentucky Wood Expo on September 19th and 20th, marking its 36th year as one of the top 10 events in Kentucky, as recognized by the Tourism Council. Last year, the event celebrated 40 years of excellence, tracing its roots back to its inaugural show in Morehead, KY, in 1983. With an estimated 3,000 attendees, this year’s Expo promises cutting-edge wood processing technology, educational exhibits, and interactive demonstrations for all.

A Showcase of Industry Innovation

The Kentucky Wood Expo will feature over 100 indoor and outdoor exhibits, highlighting the latest advancements in sawmill, pallet, logging, and wood processing machinery. A variety of support services will also be available, offering insights into forest management and the promising future of Kentucky's wood industry.

Exhibit space is still available, and it’s not too late to register! Landowner and logger education classes will take place both days, providing expert guidance on forest management practices and the benefits they offer.

Exciting Activities for All Ages

Beyond the industry exhibits, attendees can enjoy a variety of interactive experiences, including:

• Chainsaw carving demonstrations
• Lumberjack competitions
• Knuckleboom loader and log skidding contests
• Monster Log Weight Guessing
• Craft displays
• Silent auction benefiting Log a Load for Kids and the Kentucky Children’s Hospital

Additionally, an educational program for students will be held on Friday, and a woodworking class on both days will allow visitors to create their own free cutting board.

The wood industry is one of Kentucky’s largest manufacturing sectors, and the Expo offers something for everyone. Parking is free, and entry is $7.00 at the gate, with discounted admission of $5.00 for children ages 6-12 (children under 6 attends for free).

• Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Eastern Time)
• Saturday: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
