Class will begin at 2:00 p.m. and end at 8:00 p.m.
This introductory course is perfect for those wanting to get a basic understanding of the hardwood grading rules. This class is ideal for yardmen, sawyers, edgermen, sales and office staff, and management-level personnel.
AGENDA
Day 1 - Introduction – Basic Description, Lumber Characteristics, General Instructions.
Day 2 - Standard Grades, Lumber Rule, Grading Practices – Species Exceptions
Day 3 - Kiln Dried Lumber Rule, Net/Gross Tally, sales code
Day 4 - Review, Grading Practice
Fees: $325 – KFIA Member $425 – non- member
$60 – Purchase Lumber Rule*
Registration includes rules book, pencil/pen, notepad.
