About KFIA
Kentucky is blessed with an abundance of natural resources, including 12.7 million acres of forest land. There has always been a concern that these resources be managed wisely. Without a sustainable forest, the wood industry would go out of business. The economic benefit of our forests is complimented by its additional role in providing food and habitat for wildlife, recreation, watershed protection and aesthetic value.
Since 1965, The Kentucky Forest Industries Association (KFIA) has represented timber growing, harvesting, manufacturing, marketing and allied support businesses to ensure Kentucky's forests for the future.

The purpose of KFIA is to promote the economic welfare and interests of Kentucky's wood industry, landowners, loggers and service industries. Conservation, sustaining forest resources for future, and working with agencies and programs to insure the future availability and quality of the forest resources while protecting all forest users are the major goals of KFIA.
